Crossing KCU is a book written by Adam J. Coffman in regards to his experiences at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky. The book covers nearly ten years from 1997 through 2006, and traces the personal spiritual journey of the author as he painstakingly made his way through the crucible of a religious institution, learning along the way what it truly means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

I can’t believe it’s finished. The site looks greats. I’m so glad I was on the grounds crew when we put in that “do not enter” sign in front of campus. That experience has grown in meaning over the years. I hope this will truly be a help to people struggling spiritually and silently in Christian institutions everywhere that “Keep Christ Underneath.” May Christ have His way with this material.
I was just able to read the prologue before going to bed and I am quite amazed my friend, I was sucked into your writing before I finished the first paragraph.

Wow. I look back at my time at KCC and wonder what might have been. I too consider myself fortunate to have met some people there who weren’t willing to let me go. I remember having my opportunity to go study in Egypt dimissed because I missed too many chapels (though never even at the limit) and for cheering too loud at basketball games.
I fit the mold on the outside but struggled on the inside and if not for Dr Pickens I probably would have graduated a robot with a Bible college degree and no faith.
Your book literally made me cry.
Thank you for expressing what so many of us feel…a great concern for what happens at KCU but a desire to see it change, not just give up on it.

I’m almost speechless. I started reading this in exasperation, thinking it was a “hey, let’s bash KCU” kinda thing. I got sucked into the book by the first page and read it almost in one sitting. It’s totally derailed my day. An astoundingly thoughtful piece of writing. A perfect articulation of what it means to live like a Christian, and what the role of the church really is. So much of this stuff resonates with me. My focus has been on myself for so long, this book forces me to re-evaluate the true intentions of my heart and what I should be doing instead for Jesus. WOW.
